Dearest Readers!

I hope you are all doing well?

I was looking at this week's topic, and decided to write another entry into my health journal.

Life isn't easy. It's not easy for me to get up and just hop on the treadmill. I do it anyway. I go on Monday through Friday. I just tell myself it's important to do this, and so I do it.

Granted, some days I'm feeling sluggish (Really girly times I'd rather not gross you out or anything), and so to break those generational curses, I tell myself to just go at a slower pace. Low impact cardio is better than no cardio at all. I gotta keep my heart healthy and my weight down. Besides, I'm one of those people that actually like foods like pizza and such! Yes, I'm the fat girl that loves cake...I won't deny it!!!

Anyway, today is a perfect day. I'm off on Mondays and Tuesdays. The power has been flickering on and off for over an hour now. I'll be lucky if the internet is working properly so I can watch something when I do decide to go on the treadmill.

I go on around 7pm. Yes! Seven at night! It helps me to sleep better. And I like showering at night as well. I know it's said you must exercise first thing in the morning. But, I've never really been a morning person. 7pm would be more equivalent to 4 AM for me.

Let's face it! I wake up at the witches' hour which is usually 3 AM, but I go back to bed. I try to wake up no later than 6. I get out of bed at 6:30, and try to leave my house by 7:15 to get to work by 8.

If I didn't have to be at work until 10 AM, I might try to get an exercise and a shower in.

So, little fun fact from working in a nail salon: It's best if you shower to wait an hour before putting on socks and shoes to prevent toe fungus. I know! I know! Not exactly a conversation topic to have, but it's the truth!

The real truth of the matter is I'm a lazy person. I'm also a night owl. If I had my way, my bedtime would be at 4 in the morning. I normally wake up around 8 or 9, and then take a nap anyway. LOL

Whatever the case, I feel better now! I feel better because at least I'm exercising at the time when I need to. Not only am I getting healthy and fit, but I'm doing it at my own pace and not the expected pace society expects you to be.

Working at the gym, I would see people go into the gym at night. It's really not an uncommon thing to see believe it or not. Most people know it's important to them.

Now, if only I could quit my job and be the full-time writer I was meant to be. *sigh* Maybe someday. I'm beginning to think being a writer is for the rich anyway.

Still, I found a cool quote by Woodrow Wilson.

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”

Maybe I can apply it to my everyday life. Throw caution to the wind, as the saying goes.

Who am I kidding?

I've always played it safe.

The only thing I've truly accomplished was breaking the generational curses! I've reached my 11th month mark of exercise today!!!! I'm so elated about that! I can't believe I've made it.

I would always let a cough (or my girly moments) get in the way. It would stop me from exercising. Sometimes, I'd let weeks go by before picking up exercising again.

And because I'm not the rich type, I have to be my own motivational coach.

"Come on, chunky monkey," I tell myself. "You can do this!"

What? It works!

Bye for now!

  2. Congrats on 11 months. I am the opposite - I need to do something to get going in the morning. That something has been walk for half an hour (or more on good days) before work

    1. That's good too! I say whatever time works best for you is what you should do.

  3. The time of day isn't nearly as important as actually doing the workout. Sounds like you got that part nailed. 8 points Earthling

  4. Good for you, 11 months of consistent exercise! I always feel better after I do.... I'm more of a night owl as well, most definitely not a morning person. I am pretty hard on myself and am learning to have kinder self-talk.... it is very hard though! Hugs <3
